Good samaritans rescue boy caught in Hawaiian waves

Posted

NORTH SHORE, HAWAII -- A fun trip to the beach in Hawaii almost became a nightmare for a few South Korean tourists.

Two little boys, ages 5 and 8, were playing in the surf on the North Shore of Oahu while their grandmother recorded them with a cell phone.

The older of the two boys tried to get up, but power of the water began to pull him away from the shore.

Lifeguards had left for the day and his mother and parents could not reach him.

That's when bystanders came to the rescue.

As many as 6 good samaritans saw the family was in trouble and helped the boy get out of the water and carried him to safety.
