State patrol officers across Wisconsin were out in full force Thursday to kick off a summer of safety.

During the Blue Day enforcement, extra officers were on the highways and interstates to enforce speed limits, seat belt use, move over laws, and to crackdown on distracted driving.

"Our goal is zero deaths on Wisconsin roads this summer and throughout the year," said Captain Ryan Chaffee, Northeast Region commander.

The Blue Day enforcement focused on Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, Sheboygan, and Winnebago counties.
