Appleton confirms seven more cases of coronavirus

APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The City of Appleton confirmed Thursday that seven more people have tested positive for coronavirus. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Appleton to 28.

There are currently 18 residents in isolation, according to a news release from the City of Appleton. Nine residents who had coronavirus have been released from isolation. One resident with the virus has died.

The city says six of the residents with coronavirus live in the Outagamie County portion of the city. One resident lives in the Calumet County portion of the city. Three cases were acquired through contact with a person confirmed to have coronavirus. Four cases are the result of community spread.

Appleton's health department is investigating these cases and working to follow up with anyone who may have had contacted with those who are infected.
