Big Brothers Big Sisters has launched its "50 mentors in 50 days" recruiting campaign. They're looking to match volunteer mentors with at risk youth who will either meet at the child's school or do activities together in the community. They say just a small time commitment on your part can make a big impact on your "little."
"They just become better people for the community. They have more self confidence. They do better in school. They just feel better about themselves and when you feel better about yourself, you tend to project that into the way you live your life," said Executive Director, Katie Hess.
Men, Women, couples and family are invited to volunteer.
