The Appleton Police Department is investigating a series of overnight instances involving gunshots.

They say on Sunday, they responded to the Apple Pub after 01:00 AM to a report of a man with a gun. Officers say several people were locked inside the bar. Officers were told a man had threatened them with a gun. The man left the area. No shots were fired.

Nearly an hour later, officers were dispatched to Grumpy's Pub at 1501 North Richmond Street for a fight and reports of shots fired outside. Officers say they found a vehicle in the parking lot with multiple gunshots. They also found shell casings. Witnesses say a fight also occurred inside of the bar. The shots were fired after the fight.

Officers were then dispatched to a home in the 700 block of West Third Street just after 03:00 AM. The Appleton Police Department says they found a vehicle with a bullet hole in the windshield. Several people from earlier in the investigation were also at the home.

A caller also reported several shell casings were found in the roadway in the 600 Block of North Bennett Street. Officers have secured the area.
