
Katy Shero joined the NBC 26 team as a Multimedia Journalist covering Howard, Suamico, and Oneida. WGBA's commitment to community journalism and its new approach to local news will allow Katy to cover three vibrant communities in Northeast Wisconsin.
Katy is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Journalism and minor in English.
During her time at Penn State, she was a multimedia journalist with the school’s Centre County Report, which covers the central and western Pennsylvania areas. Katy was also a part of an international reporting class where she reported and produced feature stories in Scotland.
Outside of her major, Katy was very involved in the campus writing center as a peer writing tutor, wrote for a creative literary magazine, and participated in her school’s student-run philanthropy.
Katy is a native Pennsylvanian and grew up near Hershey, also known as Chocolatetown, USA. She is most looking forward to telling the stories of Northeast Wisconsin and experiencing all the Midwest has to offer.
Katy loves creative writing. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, listening to her vinyl collection, dancing, working out, and exploring nature.
