The closure of Disney’s theme parks due to the coronavirus outbreak led to canceled vacations and left us all missing our favorite Disney rides and treats for a long period of time.
Fortunately, Disney (and some resourceful fans) came to the rescue with all sorts of new ways to experience Disney fun and flavors at home. A new website, Disney Magic Moments, shared videos, resources, activities and recipes — like these delicious Disney Parks Churro Bites — to keep everyone from getting stir crazy (spoiler alert: too late!).
Disney also shared a recipe for the ultimate Disney parks treat, the Dole Whip. The recipe came courtesy of a push notification from the Disneyland app as a simple three-step “Frozen Pineapple Treat” recipe. And, although the Disney parks have reopened, things aren’t quite back to normal yet and not everyone feels safe traveling. If you’re still not yet ready to brave the crowds, you won’t believe how simple it is to whip this treat up at home.
Disney’s DIY Frozen Pineapple Treat Recipe
Here’s how to make the iconic tropical treat at home with just three ingredients plus a blender. If you want to make it look just like the real thing, use a star-tipped piping bag.
Ingredients:
1 big scoop of vanilla ice cream
4 oz. of pineapple juice
2 cups of frozen pineapple
Step 1:
Add ingredients to a blender.
Step 2:
Blend until smooth.
Step 3:
Add the mixture to a piping bag and swirl into a bowl. Don’t have a piping bag? You can DIY one or just dig in with a spoon! Dole Whip may not be anything fancy, but it sure is delicious.

And enjoy! Please note that the official parks version of Dole Whip is dairy-free. For a non-dairy clone, try this dairy-free Dole Whip recipe.
More Ways To Jazz Up Your Dole Whip
For an additional variation, mimic another Disney favorite, the Dole Whip Float, by serving this frozen mixture in a glass with pineapple juice. Adults can spike theirs for a virtual happy hour by mixing some coconut rum with the pineapple juice just like they do at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
You can also mix in other frozen fruit or add popping candy on top!
Pipe in pineapple and vanilla ice cream side by side to create your own version of one of Disney’s famous swirls.
Keep the tropical Disney vibes going by watching some “Moana” or “Lilo and Stitch” on Disney+ and pretend you’re on island time instead of stuck-at-home time!
