Ben Bokun joined the NBC26 team as a Multimedia Journalist in November of 2020.
He is a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Journalism at the Medill School of Journalism.
While serving his role as a news director and reporter with the Northwestern News Network student TV station, Ben worked as a reporter at WJFW-TV, an NBC affiliate in Rhinelander, Wis., in 2019. There, he covered general news stories, politics, agriculture, sports and more.
In the summer of 2019, Ben moved to Atlanta to work as an intern with Turner Sports, where he wrote daily stories for NCAA.com as a staff writer. During those few months, he covered 12 different sports.
In 2018, Ben developed his writing and reporting skills by covering Chicago’s professional teams for NBC Sports Chicago. During his time there, he wrote about the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, Blackhawks, Bulls and Bears.
From an early age, Ben immersed himself in news and sports reporting. He always thinks about the times he anchored the school morning news as a fourth grader.
Throughout his career, he continues to strive to reach a high level of television reporting.
Ben spent much of his life moving from place to place. He was born in Tampa, Fla., before moving to Shreveport, La., and eventually landing up in Northwest Indiana before college. He believes he has what it takes to battle snow and the other any other condition Northeast Wisconsin throws at him.
