Matt Hoffman joined NBC26 as a meteorologist in October 2015.
Before coming to Green Bay, Matt spent five years as a meteorologist on the western side of Wisconsin for WEAU 13 News in Eau Claire.
Matt was born and raised in the Twin Cities area before graduating from Iowa State University in May 2010 with a B.S. in Meteorology. You’ll find that he’s a big Iowa State sports fan. Go Cyclones!
During his career, Matt has been recognized for excellence by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for his weathercasts. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and has earned their Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal.
Matt has always had a passion for weather and has always wanted to be a meteorologist, even since elementary school, when he would draw weather maps and make forecasts for his parents at home.
He’s happy to be doing the job he loves, and he’s thrilled to now be here in northeastern Wisconsin to help viewers plan their day, their week, and of course their weekend.
Favorite thing about Northeast Wisconsin: The kind people and beautiful scenery all year round.
Favorite sports team: My favorite sport is hockey, and I'm a big Minnesota Wild fan.
Favorite movie: Mrs. Doubtfire
Favorite vacation spot: Anywhere there's a beach!
Something most people don't know about me: I enjoy baking. Mostly because I have the worst sweet tooth.
A cause I'm passionate about: Anything involving kids. Kids are awesome! Going to area schools to give school talks about weather is one of my favorite things to do. It's fun to see the kids' reactions and teach them about the weather around them.
Best part about my job: No two days are the same. The weather is always changing here in Northeast Wisconsin, and that makes it fun to come to work...along with the people I work with.
