Menasha Wins Battle of Undefeateds Against West De Pere

Friday night was a matchup of two undefeated high school football teams when West De Pere visited Menasha.  The last three times these teams met Menasha pulled out the victory, so West De Pere was entering the game not only trying to maintain their perfect record but to also finally knock off Menasha on a Friday night.  Both teams have great offenses this season, so naturally Friday was going to come down to who's defense was going to stop the other offense.

The first half opened with a 14-0 lead for Menasha after an interception return for a touchdown.  Soon after West De Pere would answer with a touchdown of their own form the help of their quarteback's legs.  Before the half was over Menasha would score again on a 26 yard touchdown pass giving them a 21-7 lead entering the third quarter.

In the second half Menasha came out throwing the ball to keep their potent offense rolling.  West De Pere couldn't keep up with the Blue Jays offense, but had some very good success running the ball with their quarterback and even moving him out in the receiver position to utilize his quickness with catching passes as well.  But turnovers troubled the Phantoms throughout the game, giving the ball back to the potent Blue Jay offense twice with interceptions and both led to Menasha touchdowns.
