Preview

After a week of happy returns, this Sunday's game will be a bit of an early day of reckoning.

In Minnesota tonight, the Packers will discover (at least in the beginning part of the year) if they belong as the cream of the crop in the NFC North.

They will have to face a Minnesota Vikings team whom they gave up the NFC North crown to last season.

That defense, perhaps, may have the best combination of kryptonite for Aaron Rodgers' and the Packers' offense. They limited Rodgers to one of the worst passer ratings for a game that he's had this decade in their 2013 win over Green Bay in January of last season.

They will also have to face Minnesota enjoying the energy of a new stadium, US Bank Stadium which is supposed to have some of the loudest acoustics of any stadium ever built.

This will be a high-level challenge of the utmost concern - but if the Packers get through this, possibly the hardest regular season game they'll have all year - they will show they are among the elite in the NFC.

Stay tuned.
