Tonight might be just be a preseason game. But for 9 year-old Stella Starry, it's the Super Bowl. The girl from De Pere will be the Shopko Kickoff Kid.
Starry was adopted from Guatemala as a baby. But ever since she was old enough to talk, her parents have made sure she knew where she came from.
She's raised close to four thousand dollars for struggling families in her home country by selling lemonade and making headbands. Starry also hosts diaper drives with the help of Jake's Diapers all in an effort to give back to her homeland.
"All the kids in Guatemala are going to be very happy and they're just going to be happy because now they don't have to choose between diapers and formula they can get both," Starry explained.
For her work, Shopko and the Green Bay Packers selected Starry as one of this season's Kickoff Kid. She will take the field with the team for pregame warm-ups, Her family receives 4 tickets to tonight's game, a Packers goodie bag and most important of all, Starry will run out onto the field to retrieve the tee after the first kickoff of the game.
