Pack Trades Down, Pick WR, Potential Back Up QB in NFL Draft

Green Bay and NY Jets complete Trade

The Green Bay Packers made a trade with the NY Jets in the NFL Draft. The Jets moved up to take the Packers 30th draft pick. In exchange, the Packers earned the Jets 2nd and 4th round picks.

The Packers picked up Kansas State WR Jordy Nelson at pick 36, Louisville QB Brian Brohm at pick 56 and Auburn CB Patrick Lee at pick 60. The Packers currently hold six picks for day two of the NFL Draft.

Jordy Nelson, WR Kansas State: Consensus All-American, shattered school and Big 12 Conference season-records in 2007, hauling in 122 passes for 1,606 yards (13.2 avg) and 11 touchdowns. He scored twice on five punt returns for 264 yards (52.8 avg) and registered a school record 140 points.

Brian Brohm, QB Louisville: Brohm closed his career as the Big East Conference's all-time record holder in passing yardage, becoming the first player in league history to throw for over 10,000 yards (10,775), compiling a 24-9 record as a starter.

Patrick Lee, CB Auburn: In 48 games at Auburn, Lee started 22 contests at right cornerback. He recorded 103 tackles (74 solos) with three stops for losses of 12 yards and a quarterback pressure.

The Packers hold six picks for day two of the NFL Draft.
