An 'x' factor for the Bullfrogs the last month has been the left arm of Derek Callahan. The pitcher from Gonzaga has gone 2 and 1 in decisions since June 10th with the team being 4-2 in those starts.
One of those losses, a 14 inning marathon with Callahan throwing 8 shutout innings.
"That's what my goal is every time out," he said at Friday's infield practice a day after earning a win over the Wisconsin Rapids, "Give my team a chance to win, go deep in the ballgames, hopefully save our bullpen, because we're a little light on pitchers right now."
He's allowed just 6 earned runs over 29 frames and has worked his ERA down to 1.96.
