FOX CROSSING - Residents in the Village of Fox Crossing will head to the polls Tuesday for a special election that will create a new village board.

Two of the former Town of Menasha board seats are being contested in the election. The new board will have seven trustees, including the village president.

After the Wisconsin Department of Administration certified the village incorporation in April, two new government boards were created.

Those boards included an interim village board made up of former Town of Menasha supervisors living on the west side and a new town board made up of east side residents and east side Supervisor Barbara Hanson.

The representatives on the interim village board, including those elected in the April spring elections, must run again for a village board seat.

Mark Englebert will compete against J. Harvey Schroeder and Thomas Gritton Jr. Schroeder previously ran in April against Michael Van Dyke but lost.

Nate Gustafson will face off against Bob Masiak for a village trustee seat.

Current interim village board members Van Dyke, Dale McNamee, Dale Youngquist and Gregory Ziegler are also on the ballot in June but face no challengers.

The new town board, made up of only east side representatives, is comprised by town supervisor Hanson, as well as Martha Andrew, James Beson, Tim Raddatz and Deb Swiertz.

Andrew, Beson, Raddatz and Swiertz were appointed to their seats by Hanson and Town Clerk Karen Backman.
