Community members had the chance to raise their concerns about overcrowding at the Brown County Jail during a town hall meeting Thursday.
The Brown County Sheriff's Department held the meeting to gather input from the community.
The National Institute of Corrections was also on hand to help analyze the current situation and try to come up with a solution.
"There's some pre-trial things we can do with the District Attorney's office and judges," said Brown County Sheriff John Gossage. "They give us the potential of rather than incarcerating, we can have some other options, so we'll look at those things."
The facility is at 92% capacity, according to Sheriff Gossage.
"It looks like there's a need to do some more systematic planning, developing a strategic plan for the justice system to maybe see, or how we can integrate and better serve the offender population," said Mark Martin from the National Institute of Corrections.
Sheriff Gossage plans to bring new ideas to the Brown County Board along with public input.
No timeline has been set.
