More than 250 athletes across the state competed in Neenah today in the Special Olympics Basketball Skills Competition.

Athletes are competing in skills of passing, dribbling and shooting.

There are two levels, a basic and a more advanced skill set to the competition.

The event is for athletes who love basketball but don't have skills for the team game and prefer individual competition instead.

"There's more than just team basketball.  What about those athletes that are still working on their skills and the opportunity for them to compete.  We would rather have them here than sitting on the couch playing video games or watching TV," said Special Olympics Tournament organizer, Mark Wolfgram.

Organizers say this year 100 more athletes were able to attend because of the new location for the tournament.
