At the end of each summer, Shopko helps students in the community by collecting donations of school supplies. This year, they're also helping teachers with back to school needs.

Shopko is asking teachers to enter its "Tools for Teachers" contest between now and September 11.

Shopko will select 10 random teachers to win $500 for school supplies for their classroom!

"Teachers spend a lot of their own money on supplies," said Michelle Hansen, Public Relations Manager for the Shopko Foundation. "We know how much they can use this for new tools, new technology."

After those 10 are selected, people will be able to vote on Facebook for one of those teachers to win $5,000 for their school.

"Shopko really supports the communities where we do business," said Hansen. "So when we do things like this, help the community, we help the schools, it's just great to be a part of it."

Teachers who work at a school within 25 miles of a Shopko location can enter. You can do so on the Shopko Facebook page.

Shopko is also collecting donations for "Tools for School," which provides school supplies for kids and families in need. You can visit any Shopko location to make a donation of school supplies.
