Sheboygan, WI -- A Sheboygan convenience store owner is taking a bold stand against the heroin epidemic. He's seen dozens of his customers die from the drug over the past year.

The owner has posted about a dozen messages on his sign over the past 4 months, trying to get people's attention regarding the heroin problem in the community and beyond. They are all signed, Heroin.

He says he's seen more than 30 customers die from an overdose in the last nine months.

The owner has reported several incidents to police related to drug use in his store.

His signs are gaining lots of attention.

"I'm overwhelmed at the response," said owner, Dick Hiers, "It's been very tough for me to get to have anybody in the community to do anything about what's going on."

The owner hopes his signs will make people speak up if they know someone affected by heroin.

Several agencies will hold an event at the BP on 9th and Erie streets next Wednesday night at 6 p.m., called Pray at the Pump. All are invited to attend.
