The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County needs your help!

They're asking for volunteers to help displaced residents of the Parkview Haven apartments move personal items out of their apartments, and provide household items for those in need.

One woman died and nearly 100 others were left without a home after a fire in the apartments earlier in May.

“We are providing essentials and basic furniture for everyone affected by this. We are also providing help with moving and other needs as they arise.” said Lisa Stricklin, Salvation Army Programs and Outreach Director.

The Salvation Army has three moves slated for next week: two on May 31 at 10 a.m. that will take all day, and one on June 1 at 9 a.m. that will take several hours.

If you can help, call the office at 920-684-7117, ext. 111 and leave a message as to when you are available.

They are especially in need of volunteers for the June 1 move.

The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County will continue helping the displaced residents until they can get back into their homes, they said in a press release.

“We will still be in need of specific items and we will update the public on our Facebook page," said Lt. Jeff Olson. "Monetary donations are still needed to support our neighbors and replenish some of our resources. ”

You can donate by clicking here, or mailing a check to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1867, Manitowoc WI 54221.

You can also text Manitowoc to 41444 for a link to donate.
