GREEN BAY - Many people like to head out the door to go camping  with the family to recognize Memorial Day, but there are some things to keep in mind when it comes to your camping firewood.

State law requires any firewood brought to a property be from within 10 miles of the campground and be from outside of a quarantined area in Wisconsin or another state to prevent the spread of invasive species.

There are two quarantines that affect firewood movement by the public.

Most parks have firewood available for sale. The DNR website offers a search engine as well as the Firewood Scoutsite.

If you're boating in waters near the Northwest storm damage area this weekend, be sure to keep an eye out for unexpected floating debris.
