Oshkosh Police find substantial battery suspect

The Oshkosh Police Department has received several tips on the identity of the suspect who was involved in the disturbance. The suspect is cooperating with police and no further community assistance is needed in identifying him. Any recommendation for criminal charges will be sent to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office once the investigation is complete. The suspect’s information will not be released until a decision is made on any criminal charges.

The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating a substantial battery that occurred at the Jockey Club, 24 E. Gruenwald Ave. at 9:30 p.m. Friday, that began inside the tavern and continued outside.

The suspect substantially battered the victim, a 20-year-old Oshkosh man. The victim had substantial facial injuries due to the incident and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for his injuries.

The suspect is described as a tall white man wearing a plaid jacket. He had a partially amputated middle finger on his left hand. The suspect was last seen running toward North Main Street from the tavern after the incident.
