Oshkosh Corporation and Feeding America teamed up to pack more than 250,000 pounds of rice, filling six semis, and help families in need in Northeast Wisconsin.
More than 1,000 volunteers worked through a program called "Feed the Body, Feed the Soul."
The program helps people get involved to help their own community.
The rice will help feed hungry families in need for one year.
"[Rice] helps stretch other products even farther, and it's something quite frankly that kids will eat, so you don't have to worry about if kids will or won't eat it...so we knew that it really was an important product that people had in their pantries," said Patti Habeck, president of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. "It really will mean a lot when families will take this and serve a warm meal to their families."
