The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has opened an inspection at Lakeside Foods in Random Lake following an accident Monday where a woman's arm was severed.

The U.S. Department of Labor confirmed the inspection in an email to NBC26.

OSHA now has up to six months to complete the inspection, issue citations and propose any monetary penalties if it finds regulation violations contributed to the accident.

On Monday, October 9, a 30-year-old woman suffered an amputation of her arm above the elbow in an accident, according to the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department.

The accident happened at Lakeside Foods' Random Lake facility at 209 Allen Street.

Dispatch led people on scene through life-saving procedures until a deputy arrived.

The woman was flown to Froedtert Hospital where she is being treated.
