Melchert, was shot six timesback in September.

In a statement Wednesday, Wooster shares that Melchert is well enough to travel home.

The statement  from Dean of Students Scott Brown says in part, " I write with the great news that Alex is well enough to travel back to Wisconsin tomorrow, where he will continue his rehabilitation from the comfort of his own home. He and the Melchert family send their sincere gratitude for all the continued support from so many people from so many places. The Wooster family has been in full force.

We wish Alex continued progress on his long road, and look forward to welcoming him back when he is able!"
