Growing Healthy: Cracked Tomatoes
The hot and humid weather we saw through June and the first half of July would typically lead to a bumper crop of tomatoes. But the significant rains that followed ended up being too much for some of our tomatoes to handle.
Tomatoes tend to crack when they ripen if they experienced erratic weather, especially too much water, during their prime growth. Find out if these cracked tomatoes are still ok to eat and how you may prevent the problem in this week's Growing Healthy.
