MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Hillary Clinton is going up on the air in Wisconsin for the first time in the general election.
The ads will begin airing in Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay on Monday. On Tuesday, Clinton's running mate Tim Kaine was to campaign in the state, his first appearance in Wisconsin since August. Clinton has yet to make a general election campaign stop.
Polls have consistently shown Clinton with a lead over Donald Trump in Wisconsin.
Clinton's Wisconsin campaign director Jake Hajdu said in a statement that the ads were also designed to help other Democrats on the ballot, including former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold who is in a rematch against Republican Sen. Ron Johnson.
The ad buy was at least $100,000, but Clinton's campaign did not release the exact amount.
