A status hearing was scheduled today for Katlyn Kinateder, the 27-year-old mother accused of killing her 2-year-old son in August, 2016.

Today in court members of the Guardians of the Children biker group in court to show support for 2-year-old Dexter Kinateder.

"There was not a single soul in that courtroom for Dexter, just the 3 of us and every other child, mother, father and family member and what not who has suffered from child abuse, that's who we represent and that's who we're here for," said Guardians of the Children member, Frank.

In October 2016, Kinateder's attorneys asked a Sheboygan County judge for time to complete a mental examination after she pleaded not guilty of killing her son by reason of mental disease or defect.

Kinateder is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse in the Aug. 4 death of her son Dexter. She is accused of suffocating her child with a plastic bag and hiding his body in a cardboard box.

The lead investigator in the case, Sheboygan Falls Officer Douglas Hall, testified in an earlier court appearance  Kinateder told him she had "lost her mind" and that "voices told her (Dexter) couldn't live anymore."

The mental examination was expected to be completed in time for the status hearing today, however the evaluation was not complete.

Kinateder did not appear in court today.

Another status hearing has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on November 29 after the evaluation has been completed.

Kinateder remains behind bars on a $750,000 bond.
