WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI -- A 43-year-old Menasha man convicted of sexually abusing an infant faces a potentially long prison term at his sentencing on May 1st.

According to court documents, on February 7, 2017 the man was found guilty of 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Person Under the Age of 13.

On February 1, 2017 the man was found guilty of 51 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

NBC26 is choosing not to identify the man, as it would also identify the victim in this case.

In the criminal complaint, a confidential informant told investigators the man admitted to abusing his daughter from the time she was one week told to just before he got locked up.

The arrest of this person was the result of a pornography investigation that led to the seizure of his phone and computer.

Court documents showed the offenses took place in August of 2013.

The criminal complaint shows a disturbing text message conversation where the Menasha man talks with a friend about sexually abusing his baby.

The man is expected in Winnebago County Court on May 1, 2017.
