Oshkosh man arrested for trafficking marijuana

On Thursday investigators from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit, investigators from the Oshkosh Police Department DTF, investigators from the Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit, and a Special Agent from the DEA served multiple drug related search warrants in Oshkosh.

These warrants were obtained in connection with an investigation into the activities of Matthew Summerville, 24 of Oshkosh. Summerville is believed to have been trafficking large amounts of marijuana in the Oshkosh area. Summerville’s name was familiar to investigators from other tips which they had been obtained in the past.

As a result of this investigation, one pound of marijuana, a small quantity of psilocybin mushrooms, and about $9,000 was seized. Summerville was arrested in the 1200 block of Algoma Boulevard in Oshkosh and booked into the Winnebago County Jail on possession of marijuana, possession within intent to deliver marijuana, possession of psilocybin, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation hold.

While serving the warrants, drug investigators determined that additional evidence might be located at a storage shed located at Barr Warehousing, 1423 Plainview Drive. A search warrant was obtained for the storage unit based upon a canine sniff, about 75 pounds of marijuana was located inside an RV located within the storage shed. Additional charges for a 28-year-old Oshkosh man are being considered pending the results of this investigation.
