APPLETON - The Fox Valley Humane Association is asking for the community's help in raising $6,000 to purchase new cat housing.

The shelter has room for more cats, but says it needs more housing units.

"We're looking to be able to keep the two populations of incoming animals separate, one population being the stray population, the other being surrendered cat population," said Resource Coordinator Liz Pirner.

Coordinators say separating the population lowers the risk for disease, which helps increase the survival rate of the cats. The shelter is hoping to raise the money by May 1st.
