Flood Safety Awareness Week
OUTAGAMIE COUNTY -- There may still be snow on the ground, but warmer temperatures are on the way.
That means it's time time to start thinking about spring flooding and the dangers it poses to your family and your home. As part of Flood Safety Awareness Week, emergency management officials say everyone should be prepared for the worst.
Outagamie County Emergency Management Director Julie Loeffelholz says, "The biggest thing is to be aware of your surroundings, if you live in a low lying area, prepare yourselves by watchin those river levels making sure you're keeping track. If the river rises, you need to take action."
Emergency offices across the state provide special radios and sandbags to help those in need.
