Storm Spotter Training
DE PERE -- April is one of the worst months for severe weather and tonight, the National Weather Service started training new storm spotters in Northeast Wisconsin.
The first of several training sessions was held tonight at St. Norbert College and was focused on teaching safety while spotting. Trainees were reminded that storm spotting was much different that storm chasing. A spotter's responsiblity is only to recognize severe weather and report it to the Weather Service.
Anyone 15 or older is invited to learn how to identify a severe storm and how to report it. If you couldn't make it tonight, there are several other classes being offered this spring.
