APPLETON, WI -- The Outagamie County Executive wants to bypass the state, and ask for federal healthcare resources.
Tom Nelson just returned from a trip to Washington D.C. to meet with representatives and Wisconsin delegates. He wants to know how the county can petition for funds without the state.
“If we don't take advantage of this, those federal dollars are simply going to go someplace else,” said Nelson. “It's going to go to another county, in another state and the tax payers in this county are going to lose out.”
If the county is successful, it could receive enough federal money to insure seven thousand people.
