Foundation Donates Supplies to Wisconsin Homeless Vets
SHAWANO, Wis. -- Homeless veterans received hundreds of donations, collected last week across Shawano County. The effort was started by a group called The HANDS Foundation.
"Homeless veterans is a serious, growing issue that needs more attention," Scott Marrier of HANDS Foundation told us. "There are around 40 homeless veterans in central Wisconsin."
The problem is larger on a national scale with an estimated 76,000 veterans looking for a place to live.
American Marine and Motor Sports helped gather the supplies. A trailer full of blankets, quilts and sleeping bags were collected and delivered on Thursday.
