GREEN BAY - A generous donation was made in Green Bay Monday, aimed at helping the city's homeless.

WG&R Furniture donated refurbished Tempur-Pedic mattresses to the NEW Community Shelter. The mattresses will replace up to eighty percent of the shelter's current beds, many of which are as old as the shelter itself.

"The mattresses we're replacing today, some of them are as old as eight years old," said shelter director Terri Refsguard. "And we have over 800 different people living with us every year, so you can imagine the wear that they get."

The company also donated mattresses to House of Hope and Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin.
