"Battle on Bago" Preparations
LAKE WINNEBAGO, OSHKOSH -- Preparations are underway for one of Wisconsin's largest ice fishing tournaments.
Festivities for "Battle on Bago" kick off tomorrow with the world's largest fish fry that takes place inside a heated tent. The tournament itself is on Saturday. More than 4,000 people are expected to attend this year, bringing a lot of business to the area.
Glenn Curran, co-founder of "Battle on Bago," said today, "I know the hotels are filling up, the bait shops in the area are overwhelmed right now, which is good for them. A nice little shot in the arm in the wintertime here prior to the spring rush for fishing."
With the number of people expected to be on the ice, organizers ask that anglers don't park on the ice if at all possible.
