Salvation Army Desperate for Donations
GREEN BAY - The Salvation Army Thrift store in Green Bay is making a desperate for donations tonight. After falling short of their Christmas goal, the Salvation Army says they might have to cut some programs if they can't make up the difference at the Thrift Stores.
Major Don Kincaid says, "If we can generate additional income here at our thrift store, that will allow us to maintain the programs that we have and that we need so desperately to help the less fortunate."
The Salvation Army Thrift Store is a place for the community to donate clothing and household items to be sold at affordable prices. Net profits support the mission and programming, such as youth camps, social services and senior programs of The Salvation Army of Brown County.
The Thrift Store is in current need of furniture, clothing (women's, men's, children's), household items (pots, pans, dishes, silverware), maternity wear, uniforms & smocks, antiques or collectibles, electronics, towels (bath or kitchen), undergarments, and vacuum cleaners.
The Thrift Store offers a staffed drop-off location at the rear of the building at 1125 W. Mason St. A tax donation receipt will be supplied for all items. For larger items, such as furniture or appliances, The Salvation Army will pick up donated items. Call the Thrift Store at (920) 884-2950 to schedule a pickup time.
