Packers Foundation's Record-Setting Donation
The Packers have broken another record, not on the football field, but in charitable giving. The Green Bay Packers Foundation awarded a record $450,000 in grants to community groups across Wisconsin during a luncheon Tuesday afternoon in the Lambeau Field atrium. 145 groups were presented with checks. The foundation aims to help Wisconsin charities like the Bay Area Humane Society, Big Brothers-Big Sisters and the YMCA.
"To support those in the community that help others and support all the charitable organizations that are here today, really is something that is part of the fabric of the Packers organization," said Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy.
The Green Bay Packers Foundation has awarded more than $3 million to charity organizations since it was founded in 1986.
