Slick roads to Snowy Roads
ASHWAUBENON, WI--First it was the fog that caused problems for drivers. Now, they're preparing for round two of some tricky travel conditions, snow.
Some people planning on staying home , others planning carefully to avoid being out in the storm.
Highway 41, an easy commute Tuesday night but expect a snow covered one soon. Some Wisconsin drivers know first hand how dangerous snowy roads can get.
"I ended up going down a hill, hit a big sheet of ice and slid right into a big sheet of rock" said Rachel Thomas Miller, from Grand Chute.
She says the accident makes her think twice before getting on the road in a storm.
"If I can, if the weather is bad enough I'll stay home and work from home if I can" said Thomas Miller.
Truck drivers have some advice to keep you and others safe.
"If you can't stay at an average speed, you're in the way of people, you're a hazard, get off the road" said truck driver Harry Wilkinson.
Police want to remind you, there will be snow plows on the roads. Look out for their flashing lights and make sure you give them plenty of room. Two-hundred feet is the law in Wisconsin.
