Kaukauna Hazmat Situation

KAUKAUNA, WI – About 12,500 gallons of diesel fuel spilled last night in Kaukauna.
 
This happened near Draper and Maria streets, when a Canadian Railroad Train began leaking the fuel.
 
The Kaukauna Fire Dept. and Appleton Hazmat responded and worked to catch the leaking diesel. They slowed the leak with a wooden plug, and were able to stop the leak. 
 
Cleanup efforts will be ongoing.
 
 
Crews in Kaukauna deal with a hazmat situation, after a train was leaking diesel fluid near Gertrude Street and Hyland Avenue.
 
The situation is under control. The DNR is on scene as well as emergency management.
