DE PERE - A private De Pere school has been named the first in Northeast Wisconsin to be authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School.

The Wisconsin International School is a small private school that prides itself on academic excellence while teaching children from 18 months to 8th grade how to be global citizens.

"You can learn a lot of information, but if you don't use it in an ethical and moral way, then what good is it?" said the head of the school, Mary Vanden Busch. "So, what we're trying to do is create global citizens that are trying to create a better world."

Students are taught either Spanish or Mandarin starting at a very early age.
