SISTER BAY-- As Steve Sohn stands on what is left of the snow in Sister Bay, he says the lack of snow the last two years has been disappointing.

Sohn is the president of the Door County Trails Association, overseeing more than 250 miles of snowmobile trails. Last year, the trails never opened and so far this year, only one trail was temporarily open.

Nora Zacek says it's harder to fill the rooms at the Open Hearth Lodge in Sister Bay without the snow and the outdoor enthusiasts who come with it.  Zacek says the lack of snow has been tough , but there are other winter activities in Door County.

And for the Door County Snowmobile Clubs, it will be hard to keep going without snow.

"We got to keep plugging away and hope that we get snow, got to keep doing our work so that we get paid by the state to keep the trails in the condition that they are in so they are ready for snow," Sohn said.
