Broken Water Main on East side
GREEN BAY-- Those who live nearby the busted pipe were without water Saturday morning as crews rushed to stop the leak. The water busted up a section of E.Mason, creating traffic jams as people tried to navigate the detours.
Utility crews aren't sure how the 36 inch main busted. They say it could be due to the age of the pipe.
The water utility manager says they will be testing water samples to make sure the water is safe.
As a precaution they are asking residents who live east of Danz and Bader streets in the Green Bay city limits to boil their water before drinking it.
The results of the water testing should be available Tuesday. Crews say it could take up to a week or more before all the repairs are complete.
