Big Ticket Weekend
ASHWAUBENON, WI -- There's plenty at stake for the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings, as they prepare for the game on Sunday.
Many die-hard Packers fans will be hitting the road to Minnesota to watch. But some are already looking ahead to the playoffs and a home game at Lambeau Field. Win or lose, the Packers first play-off game will be at home.
It was a busy day at Ticket King in Ashwaubenon.
“Going into the game, you're looking at about $300 to get in the door,” said Travis Loftus, a broker.
That's right 300 bucks a piece for Sunday’s game in Minnesota. It's doubled in price the last week.
But for some fans, that's more than worth it.
“Whenever you have a chance to get somebody out of the playoffs, especially division rival, it's a pretty big game,” said Mike Grant, who is visiting Green Bay from Anderson, Indiana.
“Another chance to beat the Vikings and send them home crying,” said Joe Mikolajczak, from Caduhy, Wisconsin.
But why are these tickets more expensive? The Packers want to clinch the 2-seed spot, and get a bye. The Vikings need the win to survive into the playoffs, but that's not all.
“Adrian Peterson going for the record as well,” said Loftus. “A lot of Vikings fans are stoked about that.”
Including Jenny Carpenter, a Vikings fan we found in Green Bay.
“Hopefully the following week, we'll be back here playing,” she said.
For diehard pack fans that can't make the trip this Sunday, they’re looking ahead to the next game at Lambeau.
“Home field advantage is huge,” said Mikolajczak.
“A playoff ticket runs about $180 to get in,” said Loftus with Ticket King.
If you're planning to travel to Minnesota, the Vikings are warning about fake tickets. Counterfeit tickets are usually sold over the internet and by ticket-sellers near the stadium on game day.
