City Cites Homeless Shelter
St. John's Homeless Shelter has been issued a $681 citation. It states that the shelter is in violation of its conditional use permit, or in other words over capacity.
This citation comes after weeks of debate around St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter and their permit. The current permit allows no more than 64 people to stay at St. John's per night, but with the recent snow and cold weather the shelter has exceeded over 80 people at times.
Now St. John's may have to pay up to 500 dollars per day if they continue to run over capacity. The shelter is due in Green Bay Municipal Court on January 18.
