Game Day Will Include Snow
GREEN BAY-- While fans, players and even the Packers head coach are loving the snowy forecast, it could create the perfect storm for law enforcement following Sunday night's game with the possibility of poor road conditions combined with intoxicated drivers.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety Commander Thomas Rolling says it's been several years since snow affected a Packers home game.
"The problems we're going to deal with is going to be all the traffic especially after the game, everyone is going to want to get home because it's late at night and of course the snow is really going to slow things down so that's where we need people to be patient and drive safe for us,” Rolling said.
Brown County has been sending out trucks to pre-treat the roads, hoping to stay ahead of the storm.
“The weather forecast anywhere from 3 to 6 inches, which might be enough to gum things up for the Packer game so we want to keep the roads as safe as possible that's our number one priority,” said Brown County Public Works Operations Manager Robert Bousley.
Crews spent Friday putting salt brine on bridges and overpasses and in shaded areas. That should help plows keep the snow from accumulating on major roadways.
