Deputies say this can be a busy time of year for thieves looking to steal holiday gifts.
The department says there are a number of steps you can take to avoid becoming a target.
When it comes to shopping safety, the Sheriff's office has these tips:
-If possible minimize shopping at night or alone.
-Always lock your car when you're not in it.
-Keep gifts you're storing in your car out of plain sight.
-Report any suspicious people or behavior to police.
