Trees for Our Troops
NEENAH, WI -- Brave men and women fighting for our country are getting some Christmas spirit today.
Schroeder's Forevergreens in Neenah is giving the public a chance to buy a Christmas tree to send to a military family. It's all a part of "Trees for Troops".
Once the tree is purchased, a personal message can be written on a special tag that will be attached to the tree. Today those trees were loaded up on their way.
"We grew up in an era where it was not necessarily a volunteer military and now we just so appreciate those folks who volunteer their time and efforts to keep our country free," said Sue Schroeder, owner of Schroeder’s Forevergreens.
This year, 17,000 trees are expected to be delivered to U.S. military bases, as well as bases overseas.
