Troop Send Off
PLYMOUTH, WI -- Friends and family gather today to send off 80 members of the Wisconsin National Guard in Plymouth.
Gov. Scott Walker also attended the ceremony. The Guard members are a part of the Battery B, 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery.
They're heading to Fort Bliss, Texas for training before deploying to Afghanistan.
“Leaving before the holidays, it's sad to leave the family, but at the same time we're coming back next year and it will be that much sweeter once we get home and spend that much more time with our families,” said Spec. Adam Payne.
Some members of the battalion also deployed with a combat team to Iraq in 2009.
